Night Safari
This is the world's first and only night zoo. The dark holds many surprises ... and more so at the Night Safari, where you can look a rhinocerous in the eye or hear the howls of a pack of striped hyenas. The animals are in 8 zones that recreate various geographic regions. The eight geographical zones featured in Night Safari are:
Himalayan Foothills
Nepalese River Valley
Indian Subcontinent
Equatorial Africa
Indo Malayan Region
Asian Riverine Forest
South American Pampas and
Burmese Hillside
Set on 40 hectares of dense secondary forest, the Night Safari offers guests the unique experience of exploring wildlife in a tropical jungle at night. Through the use of subtle lighting technique, guests are able to view over 1000 nocturnal animals of 100 species in vast naturalistic habitats.
Strike out on your own along the walking trail or relax in a tram ride - whichever you choose, the Night Safari is a wild adventure not to be missed.

Food Tours
Another fun way to explore and discover the variety of cuisine available in Singapore is to take a food tour. Try the 'Flavours of New Asia - Singapore' Tour that begins at the Spice Garden (the original site of the first Botanic Gardens) and proceeds to sample spicy Indian cuisine and Peranakan fare. All while visiting ethnic areas like Little India and Chinatown as a bonus.

Chinese & Japanese Gardens
These pleasant and spacious gardens are linked by a 65-metre bridge.
The Chinese Garden portrays the style of the Imperial Sung Dynasty and echoes the grandeur of the Beijing Summer Palace. It has bridges, pagodas with excellent views, a stone boat, a teahouse and other scenic spots. The latest attraction is a Penjing Garden "Yun Xiu Yuan" housing the Chinese Garden's collection of Penjing (Bonsai).
The Japanese Garden emphasises simplicity with stone lanterns, hillocks and a dry garden. The atmosphere is one of peace and tranquility.
Open: 9am - 6pm (daily). The gardens are a 5-minute walk from the Chinese Garden MRT Station (W10). Approximate Touring Time: 1 hour.
Changi Village
Off the beaten track, Changi Village shows a more relaxed side of Singapore. The local beach has clean sand that attracts fishermen and bathers alike, especially at weekends. The village itself has plenty of bargains to be had, T-shirts, electronics, carpets, Indian cotton clothing, shoes, batik dresses, kimonos and all types of table linen. When hunger strikes, head for the food centre or try one of the restaurants along the main street. Relax in the shade of an umbrella, order up some fresh seafood and watch the world go by.
